Bumbershoot. An arts festival that lasts three days over the Labor Day weekend. It's on the Seattle Center grounds. There are stages everywhere, performances happening simultaneously, as well as food and visual art.A friend and I got in for free. I use to work for a place on Seattle Center grounds. And one of their doors is to the outside of the grounds. A friend (unnamed to protect the not-so-innocent) still works at this place and let us in. As he met us at the door, he commented, "Well, you already got pass our security." We thought he was joking at first, because there wasn't anyone else around.
There is also the rides that are always at The Center. No, this photo is not upside down. Sid had us stand directly underneath it as it came down. They got even closer than this shows.
Ate some, listened to some music, looked at some art. Then met up with a couple more people and headed off to the Liquid Lounge inside the EMP. Go here to see what Experience Music Project is all about (and what it looks like from the outside)A blury photo of Sid (left) and Cassie (right). Unfortunately, the blur is the only one I got of her.

The inside of the EMP, looking up at the ceiling.
I thought it would be fitting to order a drink called "Purple Haze" since I was in a shrine to the man himself. It was good but I'm not so sure I should have drank something named after a Jimi Hendrix tune. I got rather tipsy. Really tipsy.

Me and my Purple Haze, Ross and his Lemondrop.
Is it a good idea to have slippery, metallic stools at a bar that serves hard drinks?
After finishing off my drink on an almost-empty
stomach:
Me: I think my stool is moving now.
Friend: I don't want to know about your stool movement.
I finally got to try a deep fried Twinkie - with whip cream on top. I opted not to have the strawberry sauce on top, but tried Cassie's who did and it was very good, too.Other things (actually, the only things I ate):
African Bajita and Raspberry Elephant Ear. All post-Purple Haze.
Tried out a fantastic hammock by Treehugger. It's like crawling into your stuff-sack. I tried a two person all by myself, so wrapped it around my whole body. Although they are out of North Carolina, they say that their biggest buyers are here in the PNW.
