Church Changes

What announcement could have made some Lutherans actually shout out "Hallelujah" and "Praise Jesus" in church this Sunday?

The back story. A male pastor in Atlanta, GA is in a committed relationship with a man (a former pastor himself). The rule with the ELCA is ordained ministers can be gay but not... how to put it? Not a practicing homosexual [roll eyes here]. He refused to step down and his congregation supported him. After a hearing committee went through deliberations a decision was made.

The announcement made in my church this week:
The ELCA decided that there is nothing wrong with his ministry or his lifestyle.
The bigger news: They also decided that maybe it's the system that is wrong and this rule needs to change.

It's a wonderful story about how a whole congregation stood behind their pastor and an amazing turn of events when the large organization admits that they are the ones who need to change.

That's TOPS!!! And still the Catholic Church won't allow priests to have hetrosexual relationships....

Not an institution open to change, and not likely to be for atleast another thousand years....

Unfortunately, we as humans want to do and be as we "feel" and not as scriptures tell us what is appropriate. As it states in scripture, we as apostate churches will fall away in the latter days and do what we feel is the right thing to do as we are blinded by our lusts.
