Dolly Drama Part Two and a Half

The story continues from the last post...

We got all the audience out and the actors went outside in the back of the theatre. We turned on our cell phones so we would have communication again. It was decided that we would not complete the matinee. It was still unknown if we would do a show that night.
I walked in to this already happening on our loading dock. A young girl had to write a paper about the show for school. And it was due soon.

This is Peggy (Dolly) and John (Horace) telling the girls how the rest of the show goes. You can see how sunny it was (as I write this, we're having a warm spring rain).

We went to dinner early. Most of us went to the grocery store and then to the elementary school to use their field for a picnic and a game of ultimate frisbee (theatre people playing sports. It's not a pretty sight).

Us techies had to be back at the theatre at 6. Still no power when we got there. At 6:30, when the actors had to be back, the decision was made that we would not be doing a show that night.

Here is an explanation of why most of our street didn't have power. There were a few transformer explosions heard by our cast. Funny how everyone kept whining about not wanting to do a show and wanted to be outside... they got their wish!

I actually have thought about what would happen if I was stuck on the platform if everything went black. Of course, everything didn't. There were emergency lights (sort of) and people with maglights.

When our lead deck went to go fetch her things from the stage, she said it looked strange. Like a whole theatre was abducted, since there were still props out and costumes pieces here and there.
