Snoqualmie

It was a sunny (!) Sunday afternoon in Seattle - (and in February!). I was just making a quick run to the used computer store in SoDo when I got a call from Pic wanting to take advantage of the non-rainy day. But she didn't have anything in mind. Off of the top of my head I suggested heading east on I-90 since it has nice views on cloudless days. But what to see? How about Snoqualmie Falls?
Not even planning to go anywhere that day, I actually just happened to have my camera with me. I just started from the store, picked her up, and headed east. We actually had a late start to the day, so we ended up there close to sunset. Aren't the icicles great?

Cue the Julee Cruise music. For those that have seen the tv show "Twin Peaks" you might recognize this view of the falls and of Salish Lodge from the opening credits.

We went into the town of Snoqualmie, looking for dinner, knowing we probably couldn't afford the dining room at Salish. We found this place called The Front Porch. From the outside we thought we were going to a diner. Inside it's actually rather swank. Probably only slightly cheaper than Salish Lodge. But luckily being the PNW, jeans and boots are fine, if not overly common place.
