OMG, I'm Anne Shirley!!

This is what happens when I have time on my hands. I cannot be left up to my own devices.

I still wanted brown hair. Friends were telling me that I just didn't leave the dye on long enough. That my hair was too healthy and didn't absorb the color. I also felt like I didn't use enough die. Instead of listening to my hairstylist and buying professional dye, I went back to the drugstore and bought the same color. I would just leave it in longer, using more of it, and figured that my hair was probably slightly damaged now by the first dye attempt and would absorb it more.

In Anne of Green Gables, Anne Shirley attempts to get rid of her natural red hair by dying it raven-black. Instead, it comes out green. My did not come out green. In my attempt to go from natural blond to brown, it came out red! So of course, I had to call K-Lyn immediately so we could both laugh at this. One of the first things I said to her, before telling her what I had done; "Omigod, I'm Anne Shirley!" Her first assumption was that I had accidentally dyed my hair green. I also thought back to the friends who had given me 'advice' and with the exception of one person, they all have much darker hair than I.

Red is fine, but I was expecting brown! The picture was right after I had dyed it. After a week, it has since calmed down to a strawberry-blond. In fact, it's now the color it was when I was little.
