A Field Trip Lesson

Our show had a student mattinee this morning. It actually went well, esp. considering the curtain went up at 10am. An almost full house of 5th to 8th graders.
I think my favorite reaction was right after the line, "The sad tale of the Beauxhommes: A history lesson!" a few kids groaned. No-o, not a lesson on a field trip *whine*! But it's a quick lesson about adultry, war, and a curse.

'The Human Heart,' pictured here, is the love scene - which got modified for the school audiences. There was a lot of whispering, giggling, and movement in the seats. Some kids even covered their faces. A lot of us crew agree that the reblocking to a 'hug while on knees, lie down while hugging' looks rather creepy/perverted/awkward. And unlike the original blocking, all they do is lie there asleep. Guess hugging can take a lot out of a man ;)

The courage of a dreamer
The innocence of youth
The failures and the foolishness
That lead us to the truth
