Doe Bay

I am in love. And it's with a place. I absolutely love Doe Bay. We stayed at Doe Bay Resort and Retreat. It was my favorite spot on the entire island. My soul could breathe.

As we were checking in with one desk clerk, another couple was being checked in by Howard. He was telling them about the dangers of swimming in the water, such as poisonous jelly fish.
He concluded with, “So, welcome to Doe Bay. We hope you don’t die.”
We decided that that was the best slogan ever!

Our first spotting of our cabin. And a doe happened to be walking by as we pulled up.

Our cabin, Bhakti, is the one in the middle.

The inside of our happy little home.

A view of the field the cabins faced. We watched wildlife (campers included) wander through the field.

We had dinner at Doe Bay Cafe, which is the back half of the office and general store. Amazing gourmet meals. To quote their webpage

"We feature fantastic organic produce from local island farmers. Any magic that we can make is because of them. Cuisine is mostly vegetarian global fusion with occasional seafood options."

And the menu changes weekly. Also can have the option of ordering it vegan as well. I had one of my favorite drinks, Prosecco.

Cassie finds a 'bub.' On the way back from dinner, we met a cat on the path. We stopped to pet it and it followed us all the way back to the cabin. Even waited for us on the porch when we were inside. You can see the expression on his face: "Oooh yeah...suckered in another tourist."

And at night. Look closely. It's almost cartoon-like. There were three deer laying in the meadow. If it wasn't for the full moon I wouldn't have seen them at all.
They didn't even mind when my flash went off. Guess it's obvious that they were all looking at me.

Julie;
I can't decide if the three deer at night picture is really cool, or just plain spooky!
